Lamb and mutton
We only sell our organic rare breed Manx Loaghtan lamb
and mutton, and provide total traceability, from pasture
to plate.
We want our customers to experience our
award winning lamb and mutton in away that suits them
best. From dinner parties to summer barbeques, we provide
an individual service to all our customers to ensure our produce
is exactly suited to their requirements.
Langley Chase lamb and mutton is reared slowly and naturally
on our organic herb and
wild flower rich pastures where they grow and mature at their
own pace, taking around seven months for Autumn Lamb; 12 months
for Year Lamb and three years or more for Mutton.
Animals are individually selected depending on the customer's requirements. They are traditionally hung from between seven to 14
days after slaughter, before being professionally butchered
to the customer's order by a Soil Association accredited Master Butcher. We believe it is our duty, out of respect to our animals, to ensure that they are butchered as expertly as possible. The order is packed in an insulated cool box, labeled ready
for cooking or freezing, and delivered direct to the customer's door.
Costs
Whole and half lamb or mutton is available to order at £9.85
per kg. An average whole lamb weighs about 13/14 kg when butchered.
Mutton is heavier and often sold in halves. Delivery
cost is £15.00 or picked up free from the farm.
